October's Digital Citizenship Champion is Keegan Korf.

October's #DigCit Champion is Keegan Korf, Lead Teacher of Digital Citizenship for Omaha Public Schools in partnership with Common Sense Media. "Keegan goes above and beyond to make sure teachers have the best info out there to provide for our students. She is the #digcit person I go to," reports Ashley Amante.

Asked about her interest in digital citizenship, Keegan said, "As an educator, I truly believe that we can empower young people by spending less time planting seeds of fear when it comes to online behavior and instead, share with them the positive power of social media and how to use it to their advantage... Social media is a powerful resource. We need to support our students in using these resources to share all of the awesome things they are already doing."

Keegan is a TEDxOmaha speaker and an advocate for Educational Technology for all students. She works in the Omaha Public Schools community and the Nebraska region to educate students, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders in dialogue about digital citizenship and media literacy in order to help children foster technology use to its full potential.
